Karel Doing - Seven Days of Chaos

Seven Days of Chaos is an on-site installation built in an dilapidated flat in Spangen, Rotterdam. A collection of discarded technology, second hand junk and left over building materials was turned into a kinetic installation. The building process was totally improvised, and aimed at bringing out something that would evolve from my subconscious, while drawing analogies to Brion Gysin's cut-up technique. The installation is like an inside out model of a human body:

A wooden structure functions as skeleton, a clock as the heart, brass pipes and PVC drains as arteries, and a deconstructed computer as the brain.
